How I love this series...I don't even know if I can express how awesome they are. Obviously the second book doesn't have that "first book charm" that first books do...but it is an awesome sequel. There is always more to learn about the dragons, and the plot was really awesome as well. And, of course, I love Creel and Luka. And Marta and Tobin...and all the dragons...and everyone. I just love this series! It's awesome enough that I still notice new things after multiple times reading, and yetThese books are so much fun to read. The characters are great, the dragons are amazing, and the main character Creel is a bad ass. She's a smart heroine, and not one of those MCs where the author says they're smart but than the character constantly does stupid stuff. Creel is the real deal: intelligent, no-nonsense, sarcastic but also incredibly kind-hearted and I love her!
More dragons, more fun! Shardas is an excellent dragon character the reason I read this book too.Unfortunately the climax falls flat with minimum action and a too-quick resolution. At least there wasnt an overly irritating character like in the last one.
Great sequel. The story was intriguing and surprising. The one disappointment was the relationship between Luke and Creel. I didn't feel it was developed enough. Luckily, that was forgivable since Creel's relationship with the dragons is so fantastic. I love the unique personalities of all the dragons and how much Creel cares for each of them. Fun series!
This was actually my favorite of the two sequels, though the original still won my heart the most. The issues in this particular book are engaging and turn the tables on the "humans enslaving dragons" from the first book, but I enjoyed the twist and Creel's reaction to it. The ending was a bit rough for me and while completely understandable that a king would want to boot the dragons out of his nation for the sake of safety, I found his unwillingness to bend on dragon's being reasonable and
Creel and company are back for a whole new adventure. Granted, said adventure is moderately similar to the first book in ways, but it was pleasant to read regardless. In any case, the second book, Dragon Flight is on par with the first book. I don't feel as if any great new strides are made by the book, but that's not what the book is about. It's about a girl, a bunch of dragons, and an adventure that's basically always right at your doorstep. I think the best part of the books is the
*WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS*Dragon Flight was a devastating read because it 1.) made me realize I was becoming an avid fan of George's writing and 2.) it clearly showed that if she keeps up this maniac writing pace I am going to remain quite poor thanks to my book fund being repeatedly emptied! The story opens very sweetly, if not just a little bit boring. Quickly, the reader is thrust back into Creel's world so that even if they had forgotten minor details, it really doesn't
