Explanation Toward Books Vampire Destiny Trilogy (Cirque du Freak #10-12)
This is a review for the entire Darren Shan saga Total score: 4 I look back on The Saga of Darren Shan with fondness. While some parts were stronger than others, overall I really enjoyed the series. It was thrilling, exhilarating and exciting. It was gross and disturbing. Some parts were very predictable, other parts left me utterly baffled. Add all of that together, and you have the perfect recipe for a scary story for both children and adults. Darren Shan is a fascinating writer. Story The story starts with Darren Shan, a boy around 12-13, who visits a freak show with his best friend, Steve. From that evening on, both their lives will never be the same again. We follow Darren as he becomes the assistant of a vampire, Mr Crepsley, becomes a half-vampire himself, and all the consequences of these happenings. We journey along with them to Vampire Mountain, where all the important vampires live, including the Vampire Princes. We make friends with very eccentric people, we anxiously bite our nails and we cannot put the book down. Characters No two characters are the same, which in itself is quite a feat. Darren Shan is a nice protagonist to follow around for twelve stories. He doesn’t have the most exciting personality, but he doesn’t annoy me either. I like that the antagonists get the more interesting characters. The story revolves mainly around Darren, but the others play an important part as well. Mr Crepsley would have been a great father. He is strict and proud, but he’s always honest (as are all the vampires and vampaneze) and he’ll give you a pat on the back if you’ve done well. Despite his sombreness, he does make you smile. Just like his previous teacher, Seba Nile, Larten Crepsley makes a wonderful role-model of whom you can be proud. Vancha March is made of awesome. He doesn’t live as strictly by the rules as all the other vampires. He doesn’t use any weapons except his hands and a handful of throwing stars (“shurikens”). He has green hair, wears purple clothes and even though he is described as an ugly man, he thinks he’s quite the ladies’ man. If anything in this saga makes you laugh, it’s this guy. He stole the show. I could go on and on, because every character has its interesting traits. Harkat, Mr Tall and Mr Tiny, Evanna the Witch (but don’t call her that or her frogs will kill you), Vanez... each character has their own defining characteristics. Romance The romance was.. eh. It was okay when Darren and Debbie were both 13, but then Debbie became an adult and Darren was stuck being a teenager and then it bordered on creepy. Even if, after 30 years, Darren eventually does become an adult, it's still very creepy. Luckily, the romance didn't play a big part in the story. It was all about Darren's destiny and the fight between the vampires and the vampaneze. The romance was just a background story. More important was the friendship between Darren and Harkat(view spoiler)[/Kurda (hide spoiler)], Mr Crepsley and the other characters. Ending While I was left with many questions ('What exactly is Desmond Tiny?' 'What happened to the others?' 'Seriously, what the fuck is Mr Tiny?'), the ending left me satisfied. There is a happy ending in a way (view spoiler)[despite the fact that our main character died, but that's a nice change compared to all the other books I've read. I'm a little confused by the whole thing where a different person will replace Darren in the entire story, but that's okay. We're not supposed to understand Mr Tiny and his people. (hide spoiler)] Conclusion I will definitely be holding on to these books and re-read them in the future. Maybe then some things will become clearer. Well what an ending! Darren Shan wraps the series up nicely with this last few additions to the series. We find out who Harkat Mulds is (a character I adored and longed to know his identity). And finally we get to find out who on earth Desmond Tiny is and how he is wrapped up in the entire plot. The satisfaction gained from this series was enormous and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks Mr Shan for bringing this series into my life, it was fantastic!This saga was just amazing. I have to admit, it did have some annoying points where it was so obvious what's going to happen or just bits of dialouges which I didn't like. Sometimes the choices made or when characters that I liked died annoyed me and I put the book down. Well what did I expect, after all this isn't a happy end story, right? But whatever, the strengths of this saga overweighs the parts I did not like as much. It has such unexpected turns, sometimes you just sit there, jaw dropped
Holy moly...what a series! I was slow to finish this book because I didn't want it to end! It's rather annoying when the endings of series aren't satisfying, but this ending really was. Everything is explained, everything is tied together and a lot of the time you're left saying, "What?!" out loud, and, "How did I not see that?!" Definitely a great read. Not your typical vampire series, and I will definitely have to reread these books again in the future!

So, second time I read the series. First time I borrowed it from my sister and I loved it, so after a few years I came across the series second hand and had to buy them. I do prefer the trilogy books, instead of the separate parts, it's much neater this way and the separate books are kind of thin haha.I like the series a lot. I do! I really think Darren Shan has the gift of writing detailed, lengthy stuff and make it seem like only a few pages. You just glide through it without noticing.
in this three books, the aruther had burst out all the plots and twists or even secrets he had hidden before, they also give the readers a clear image of Mr tiny, who had been a mystery before. Darren shan had finished his adventure and also rescue the young "him". i tried to go through his journey from the beginning, but i couldn't even remember some of the details, that's how magical and thrilling his life was. When i was young, i would want to explore and had a magical life, but by looking at
Forgot how much I used to love this series and author. It was a very pleasant and thrilling read of a childhood favourite.
